Data Conversations: how to use version control to improve reproducibility In-Person
Open Science aims to make research open, transparent and reproducible. What does that mean in practice? During the Data Conversations VU researchers from all disciplines get together to exchange ideas and good practices regarding open data, FAIR data, research data management and more. On November 19th we will discuss version control. There will be a hands-on practical, so bring your laptop!
What you call the “final” version almost never is….
Your research output, whether it is your manuscript, your research data, or an analytical workflow, goes through an unpredictable number of versions. What you call the “final” version almost never is.
We will discuss how proper version control can help you:
- keep track of changes and versions of the files you are working on,
- make your research process and its documentation more transparent and better reproducible for others
