Societal Impact toolkit workshop for the SDG’s @ VU Amsterdam

Societal Impact toolkit workshop for the SDG’s @ VU Amsterdam In-Person

With regret, due to the current global COVID-19 pandemic we are no longer able to run the [two workshops] to develop a societal impact toolkit in April.
These are unprecedented times, and we are not currently able to confirm a timeline for rescheduling these events. We are still continuing to develop a toolkit for researchers, and will be releasing some initial findings from our project in the Spring, with some opportunities for feedback virtually.
We hope to be able to run these workshops later in the year; if you would like to be notified once dates are confirmed, please contact Mithu.lucraft@springernature.com . Thank you for your understanding and support.

Want to learn how to design Societal Impact into your research project? And help other researchers providing input for a societal  impact toolkit?

Springer Nature and The Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU), in partnership with Wageningen University & Research and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invite researchers to participate in the development of a new best practice guide on societal impact.

We will be hosting two workshops with researchers in April 2020, in order to develop a best practice toolkit that helps researchers maximise their societal impact of their societally relevant research.

Goals:

Where research relates to one of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals, achieving impact beyond academia is not only desirable but essential. What are the most effective ways that researchers can optimize – at all stages of the research cycle – the dissemination, impact, and promotion of their work? What kinds of impact are most relevant? What best practice and guidance can be created to help researchers plan their research impact?

Help us: We will host two workshops to explore these questions and to help shape the content of a best practice toolkit, expected to launch in late 2020.

You’ll learn: As a thank you for participation in the toolkit workshop, researchers will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on societal impact training workshop immediately after the discussion.

  • 09:30 - 12:30 | Morning session: “Societal Impact Toolkit Evaluation” |  Goal: you help us finalize the toolkit that enables researchers in the Netherlands to create more impact with SDG-related research.   | by Mithu Lucraft (SpringerNature) |  [mandatory]
