How to write a Master's Thesis? (Online)

How to write a Master's Thesis? (Online) In-Person

Are you about to start writing your master's thesis, but are you not sure how to start?

This workshop teaches you everything you need to know. From using the right reference software to structuring your research process: you'll receive countless useful tips that will give you a head start.

During the workshop, you'll learn to:

  1. Develop your research question(s)
  2. Set up a suitable methodology
  3. Write an enticing introduction
  4. Create a feasible planning

An important sidenote is that the workshop is very general. We can't go into too much detail, because some parts of the thesis, such as the methodology, can be very different per field. We try to organize the workshop in such a way that everyone from every field can benefit from it!

This workshop will be taught by Law Alumna Charlotte Parree. She graduated in the Master's programme private law at the VU Amsterdam. She won the annual Master's Thesis Award 2023 for her thesis 'Suffering knows no age; active life termination does'. Charlotte has been working at the RSJ (Raad voor Strafrechtstoepassing en Jeugdbescherming) since 1 February 2023 as an associate adviser. Before starting at the RSJ, Charlotte worked as a junior lecturer at the private law department of the VU Amsterdam.
