Data Horror Stories: A Halloween Event on Open Science and Its Hidden Challenges

Data Horror Stories: A Halloween Event on Open Science and Its Hidden Challenges In-Person

Enter if you dare!

As the academic world embraces the brave new frontiers of digitalization and Open Science and, not everything is as it seems. Lurking in the shadows are predatory publishers waiting to prey on your hard-earned research, and hackers, ever watching, ready to still your data and money. Open Science does not always go smoothly

Join us in this thrilling, Halloween-themed session, where we confront the dark side of research. Our speakers will take you on a journey through the challenges of ensuring transparency in a landscape riddled with pitfalls. Can we banish the ghosts of bad practices? Can we summon the support of institutions to move forward? Through storytelling, we’ll explore the ways to pave the way for a future where research is reproducible, transparent, and secure. Come prepared for insights, frights and bring your curiosity and sense of humor.

Do you have your own "horror story" that you would like to share during the event? Drop a message to e.karvovskaya@vu.nl
